Summary

If we are going to pull through this crisis, we must work together to adjust our expectations. Be honest and transparent with your clients. Communicate your position and share some of the changes you have had to make as a result of this pandemic. We're all in this together, so communicating effectively will help bridge some of the gaps and insecurities running rampant right now.

When you're setting expectations for yourself, know that you cannot please everyone. One person can surely make an impact, but one person cannot do it ALL. We are in a new normal now, which makes it necessary to adjust our expectations since there are limitations on what we can do right now. Focus on key changes that are in your control and will help move your business forward.

When it comes to your business, don't fret about losing clients. People are still interested in what you have to offer, and marketing yourself and coming up with new ways to exhibit your business will maximize your influence. There is so much power in positive thinking. Managing your expectations does not mean that you need to veer towards negativity; instead believe that your business will be successful. Those positive thoughts will translate into focus, and focus is essential to success in your personal and work lives.

“Unspoken expectations are pre-determined resentments.”
